Mother’s day is just around the corner, and what great timing because here at Bag Snob, we’re starting a new feature called Bag-a-trois: one bag with three style ideas to serve up as your outfit inspo. For this impending Mother’s day, when you’re introducing her to that new trendy cafe in your neighborhood, a perfect wicker type bag wouldn’t go astray – the Prada Midollino bag to be exact.
I’m in all sorts of love with picnic-style wicker bags, but this Prada one is a sophisticated and clean iteration that reminds me of the crisp look of the Harley bag by Mark Cross. It’s the perfect complement for the weather that’s warming up, which I wish was also the case for me! See how you can style the bag below.

Style 1 – Darling Details
Round out this feminine look with a vibrant coloured scarf as your makeshift hair tie to brighten the look up (Apparently it’s a thing, you guys). I would keep the jewels to a minimum and opt for dainty gold necklaces or rings. The Prada bag anchors the whole look down and effortlessly pairs with the stripy dress.
Style 2 – Fail Safe Florals
Florals for Spring will always be part of the season’s fashion vernacular, so naturally I included a floral dress. The dress has a quaint ease about it while accentuating the waist, which I find is flattering on most body types. The red also pops nicely against the Prada bag. If you aren’t lucky to nab a shady table at the cafe, pop on your hat: saves you from uncomfortable squinting.
Style 3 – Shirting
Mother’s Day is a worthy celebration to amp your outfit with some sophistication, without having to do all too much. White shirting is a basic, tuck yours in with one of your white pants to give it a polished finish. I know it’s a strikingly white look but the wicker on the Prada bag will give it that organic textural dimension.
