Beauty Snob nightly routine

beautyroutine%20001.jpg

I’ve received many emails from fellow Beauty Snobs inquiring about my beauty routine so lest you think I was kidding about my 10 (sometimes 12) steps each night, here it is. (But I don’t pile them on top of each other, I use different products for different parts of my face! My forehead has different needs than my chin as do my nose, cheek and under eye area, etc.) It takes me almost 30 minutes to go through my ritual of potions, lotions and facial massage but my husband keeps me company by telling me about his day at work (well, he lies on the bed and watches tv but still, he’s keeping me company). Do you see why I am the high maintenance snob and Kelly is the practical snob?

1. The Diamond Ice Lift mask from Natura Bisse is gentle enough to use every other night and it’s very hydrating so it’s two masks in one. I like using it often because it exfoliates gently and allows my products to absorb into my skin.

2. Glycol Peel 50% from Natura Bisse – I use this 2-3 times a week, apply 3-4 drops and rinse off in 15 minutes for at home glycolic peel.

3. I use Skinceutical’s Phyto + gel religiously 2 times a day to keep my pigmentation at bay.

4. Diamond Drops from Natura Bisse is a regenerative serum to counteract aging cells. It’s also great to do my facial massages with, next time you get a facial, ask your esthetician to teach you a few massage moves to keep your facial muscles toned.

5. Natura Bisse Inhibit Tenso Lift– this REALLY works, it tightens and lifts so you don’t get those saggy jowls. The price is shocking but Kelly and I feel that it’s better to invest in good products now rather than a radical facelift later. (It costs as much as Botox but so much more natural and less invasive, and you won’t end up looking like this!)

6. Natura Bisse’s Inhibit Dermafill is good for filling those dry lines that have not turned into deep wrinkles. (I usually massage my face a few minutes per product so it really absorbs before putting on the next item)

7. I like using an eye gel before my eye cream, Natura Bisse’s Stimul-eye active gel de-puffs and gets rid of dark circles. (I use this under my eyes only)

8. I’ve used La Prarie Cellular eye cream since I was 18, after all these years, it’s still one of my favorites. I alternate this with the Natura Bisse Diamond Bio Lift eye cream. (Beauty tip- pat eye cream along your nasal labial folds and you won’t look like a hound dog when you’re 50)

9. Natura Bisse Diamond Bio Lift eye cream is creamier than most eye creams so it’s easy to massage into eye socket area. I don’t pat my eye cream in as we’ve been told to do, my facialist in Taiwan taught me to lightly massage the acupressure points around my eyes with my ring fingers.

10. Finally, I finish all of this off with Natura Bisse’s Diamond Extreme cream to my face, neck (I’ve tried many neck creams but this is good for everything!), and chest (don’t neglect your chest or you’ll get those scary vertical lines in your cleavage!).

11. I never put heavy creams in my T-zone; instead, I use a Skinceuticals moisturizing pore minimizer that I forgot to include in the photo.

liprepair.jpg12. I also use a Antioxidant lip repair from Skinceuticals at night and in the mornings. It keeps my lips smooth and soft with acid free exfoliating compound and botanical emollients. (and prevents those gross vertical lines from drinking out of straws or smoking- I don’t do either but still, I am scared of getting those lines)

See how tiring it is to be me? Stay tuned for my morning routine, it’s just as involved if you can believe it. It’s also the reason I am always late to lunch with girlfriends (now you know)!

Thanks Tina!! This is great! Realised that you have not include the SkinCeutical C+E. Do you use the C+E or does Kelly use it? Hey Kelly – can you share your routine with us too? Pleeeease! I am a Chantecaille fan (Sorry Tina) and want to see what Kelly is using!!! ( Kelly – loads of thanks, I bot the Stress Repair Eye Cream and it REALLY works!)

I really love really your blog – both Tina and Kelly use the combination of things I use – Chantecaille and SkinCeuticals!

You guys really should try organic pharmacy’s collagen boost mask too!

Thanks for making every day “beautiful”!

    Luv,

    Hi Karen,

I use the Skinceuticals C+E ferulic, but only in the morning…

My daytime routine is even more involved… haha

I write for many national beauty publications and I have to agree with Beauty Snob Tina, Natura Bisse is one of the best lines on the market. It’s the product line beauty editors and insiders use.

Chantecaille does not compare when it comes to serious wrinkle prevention but it does smell nice.

    Glycolic Acid:

The more you know how it works the better.

I was “spotted” for many years until I found the cure.

Glycolic Acid works wonderfully and fast. Unlike the other tauted creams or accutane, I’d like to stay fertile thank you very much.

Thanks Tina. My head is spinning. I want to go out and buy your whole beauty regime line and with NM and SAKS having their beauty event this week (thanks Blogdorff Goodman for the heads up) I want to try some products. What would be a good base of items to get. Kind of like a starter kit? I am 45 years old. Been using mostly Chanel products and have been happy with them, particularly the serum and eye cream. But if there are better ones out there….

Wow, it’s indeed tiring to be you. If you don’t mind me asking, what type of skin do you have? I want to try some of these products. But, I am prone to break outs and I am afraid of piling on too many skincare products. But I also want to ward of any premature lines and wrinkles. Thanks for sharing your ritual.

    Hi Coachwife,

We love you for your continued support of both our sites!

So, for a basic starter kit to add to your fave Chanel serum and eyecream, I’d recommend the following:

    1. Natura Bisse Glyco 50%

    2. Natura Bisse Diamond extreme cream

    3. Diamond ice lift mask is also a fantastic product that you must try.

Start with these three and let me know what you think! for daytime you must get the Skinceuticals Ferruic C+E- 214-383-1010

    Hi Shelly,

I use different products for different parts of my face so it’s not really piling them on top of each other. My brothers used to make fun of me but seriously, my forehead has different needs from my chin as do the rest of my face!

My T-zone is really oily but the rest of my skin is normal. On my T-zone i use the moisturizing pore minimizer from skinceuticals.

To protect from wrinkles you must try the Diamond line!

    xoxo

I’ve been doing a very light regiment with just Natura Bisse sensitive cleansing cream and the Diamond Bio Lift eye cream….and I need a moisturizer for my whole face to end the whole thing with. I’ve got super duper sensitive skin, do you think the Diamond Extreme would be good?

    February 28, 2007 / 4:34 pm

    Hi Susan,

Why don’t you go to a Natura Bisse counter and ask for a sample of the Diamond extreme? It is the best way to determine whether or not your ultra sensitive skin is suitable for it.

I’m so friggin’ jealous that you have that inhibit tenso lift. My friends and I all want that SOSOSO bad. I LOVE the Ice Lift Mask and 50% glyco-peel. I’m working my way up to the inhibit tenso lift.

FYI, Shelly my skin is so different from Tina’s and most of the products she listed (aside from the much coveted inhibit tenso lift) are products I use and swear by, as well! They are all quality products.

I used to have the kind of skin that people actually made fun of and now I get compliments all the time and I SWEAR it is from using Natura Bisse.

I have also tried the skinceuticals line and they are great too.

I wrote down everything I will order (Glyco Peeling, Diamond Biolift eye cream and Stimul-eye) through NM but could not get myself to buy the Natura Bisse’s Diamond Extreme. It’s just too pricey after tabulating everything else. I am getting cold feet.

Would you recommend doing it online or do you have an SA at NM at NorthPark. I live three-plus hours from Dallas but I sometimes get over there because I have relatives in Dallas. Thanks in advance.

Ah, a Natura Bisse counter. I live in the middle o’ nowhere Florida so I’ll have to wait until I go to Miami next week to find one. 🙂

Hi Beautysnobs, now we know why and how you gals always look so superb! Thank you for sharing the secrets.

My main concern is that I live in the tropics i.e. Singapore which is typically hot and humid. Would these products (especially the Diamond) be suitable? I have combination skin, oily T zone and dry-to-normal eslewhere.

    Thanks Tina!!

Em.. perhaps i should try some of the Natural Bisse as well!

Anyhow, back to C+E, my beauty salon asked me to put C+E, then Phyto Correction and then B5 and a moisturize every night (not in the morning though)

Nonetheless, you are only putting C+E in the morning. Why is that? Am i using my products wrongly? (oh no!!!!!)

Thanks loads Tina. U r the best!

    luv,

    Karen (HK)

    Hi Karen,

Your beauty salon is leading you in the right direction. Every morning, I use skinceuticals C+E, Phyto+ gel, B5 hydrating, then my moisturizer.

At night I like natura bisse!

do you know whether these products are compatible with Retin-A? My good friend is a dermatologist – he tells me the ONLY thing that will keep skin looking fresh and young is Retin-A. Your thoughts?

First, I just wanted to say what an amazing blog this is. It’s been really helpful, I don’t have bad skin but still I want it to look fresher and healthier. These products seem to be great. I was wondering if there’s an online store that might sell Natura Bisse? For us readers that don’t live in the states, how can we get hold of these products, particularly the natura bisse products?

What do you think of Natura Bisse’s Essential Shock moisturizer? My main concern is hydration. Also, don’t like the scent of Diamond Extreme.

  25. March 3, 2007 / 12:11 am

Tina, this regime made me laugh- and then made me stop and realize that I need more than a 3 step regime (this is exactly why you told me you are not a 3 step gal!)

My mom and I have a lot of shopping to do… we will be doing it together very soon!

Thanks to you and Kelly for the most amazing beauty tips out there

Hi! I love your blog and read it religiously! I am only 18, and therefore have no need of anti-aging products (except suncream which i apply obsessively whenever i’m in the sun!) and was wondering what products you would recommend? i have a slightly oily T-zone slightly red blotchy cheeks, which sometimes are quite dry. any recommendations? Thanks, Lucy

Received the products from NM Beauty event and qualified for the NB gift package. I used them last night during my 30-minute cleaning/moisturizing/repairing routine. Love, love, love. Thanks for recommending them. My skin feels wonderful this morning. BS, you are the best.

    Hi Tina,

I was hoping to find some info on your site comparing Natura Bisse to La Mer (which I am currently using and love.) I cannot find any posts about La Mer even though I remember you used to have them. Are you no longer recommending it? Do you have any comments about Natura Bisse vs. La Mer? Thanks for your help!

I totally love Natura Bisse products. For moisturizer for both am and pm I use the NB Essential Shock Cream and the Diamond Extreme Eye. I did find a lip moisturizer that is fabulous – the holy grail for lips that don’t wrinkle or have the vertical lines is SENSAI cellular performance total lip treatment by Kanebo Cosmetics Inc. made in Japan – it is .52 ounce. I found these products Kierland Commons

Scottsdale, AZ – I live in Bellevue, WA and Gloria mails me product when I run out. She is fabulous at customer service

This is what she said about the Shock Cream. Sue,

I have been using myself Natura Bisse- Esstential Shock Cream. It is very nice . It is an anti-aging ,firming, and anti wrinkle cream. It repairs and renews the deeper epidermal layers. Moisturizes and improves skin elasticity. It softens and improves skin texture. The cost is $106. I really think you will like this cream,I do.
