I can’t get my husband to use conditioner, face cream, or body lotion on the regular so I literally laughed out loud imaging him using makeup! He’s clearly not the demographic for Chanel‘s latest beauty product collection, Boy de Chanel, which launches in November. But he should be! When he breaks out he’s self conscious and unlike us women he doesn’t have the tools to simply cover up a blemish. In this age of gender fluidity it’s about time that we normalize men taking care of themselves just as we do. Why is it ok for a woman to put on some concealer and not a man? I asked my husband if he’d ever let me apply a bit of foundation or cover-up and he said no way if he was going to work, but kudos to Chanel for starting this conversation! I hope they set a trend. It’s also worth noting that men’s skin is thicker and oilier so they do require foundation that keeps that in mind (in case you’re thinking of sharing your foundation/skincare with someone of the opposite gender).
The new Chanel line will include three products in dark blue packaging for face, lips and brows: Foundation with Broad Spectrum SPF 25 (8 shades), Lip Balm, and an Eyebrow Pencil.
Stocking stuffer, anyone?
