I was shopping with a couple of friends a few months ago when one of them grabbed two muumuus for the duo’s impending Turks & Caicos trip. I held my tongue, though they were clearly not the most flattering loungewear on the market. I actually have seen some gorgeous muumuus, but these rainbow-striped, polyester incarnations were most certainly not it. Then again, the girl who wanted them is the kind of person who can throw on a trash bag and look amazing! For the rest of us out here, I’ve found some poolside coverups that are as cute as any bikini, and better yet, they’re all part of the NET-A-PORTER end of season sale….
Mara Hoffman Ananda Printed Jersey Playsuit ($129): If you’re doing more than just relaxing the pool (not that there’s any shame in that!), a playsuit offers extra functionality for activities like tennis and hiking.
Tara Matthews Propriano Tie-Dyed Cotton-Jersey Coverup ($120): A draped cowl back adds heightened drama to the beach essential.
LemLem Zema Striped Cotton Zema Striped Cotton-Blend Jumpsuit ($175): Summer white, vibrant athletic stripes, and a loose, breezy fit? There’s not much else you can ask for!
Emilio Pucci Printed Cotton and Silk-Blend Voile Kaftan ($836.50): Pucci prints are made for summer, especially the house’s retro Capri print.
Miguelina Bridgette Crocheted Cotton Lace Dress ($246): The idea behind Dominican-born Miguelina Gambaccini’s line is that her pieces can take you from the beach to the bar. And really, where else do you need to go on a tropical vacation?
