Your bag dreams have come true! The most coveted bags in the world are now available for a limited time (7 days to be exact). From today until October 8th, Gabriela Hearst bags are up for grabs at NET-A-PORTER and in store at Bergdorf Goodman to raise awareness for the hunger crisis and impending famine in Kenya and will pledge $600,000 to Save the Children for famine relief efforts.
In July 2017, Gabriela traveled to Turkana, Kenya with Carolyn Miles, the President and CEO of Save the Children and the trip coincided with the first-ever joint fundraising campaign by eight of the world’s leading US-based international relief organizations to raise awareness for the hunger crisis and impending famine. More than 1,000 families in need were not being reached by Save the Children due to lack of funds. To reach them with cash grands through to the next harvest several months from now, Save the Children calculated it would cost around $600,000 and that is what Gabriela is committed to donate.
Gabriela’s donation will provide cash grants of around $55 per month to more than 1000 families in the Turkana region through the next harvest. These grands will give families the ability to purchase life-sustaining food, livestock and clean water to help them survive the drought.
From October 1 to 8, the Gabriela Hearst handbag collection will be available for immediate purchase for the first time online at NET-A-PORTER and Bergdorf Goodman as well as the New York City Bergdorf Goodman store. The collection previously has only been available through a lengthy wait-list through gabrielahearst.com.
