Bottega Blonde

Bottega Veneta at Saks Fifth Avenue

The Blonde frame bag by Bottega Venetta is the perfect example of Creative Director Tomas Maier’s low key approach to design. Simple, chic and beautifully made, this is for the serious handbag collector. The retro modern lines are further emphasized by the futuristic looking lock and clochette, it is one of those pieces that will still look current 10 years from now and will make you looked polished no matter what you wear. It may not inspire knock offs like the trendy Paddingtons and the Fendi B bags but that to me is a good thing, I don’t want my bags being sold on Canal Street in Chinatown for $20. Of course the signature Bottega touch is there in the braided handle and meticulous craftsmanship. Unexpected touches are the tonal studding and black patent accents, all of which add to this magnificent bag. You can not go wrong with a Bottega bag and you certainly won’t with a Blonde on your arm! $2640 at Saks.

This is something different! And in an interesting way. I have been waiting for some time now for something new from BV, the woven leather bags are nice, but they have repeated it now for so long, that only the extremely exclusive ones are the ones I would buy if given the money. This also is expensive if you look at the size, but there is something new in the design and I too think that this could be a good investment and would add spice to your bag collection, even a small collection.
