Leg Up

Not all pants are created equal. I still remember the day that the cut of my favorite pants changed. I tried on four different sizes just to make sure that it was the pants, and not my waistline that made my go-to, leg-lengthening, waist tightening magic pants fit strangely. While I’ve mostly recovered, I do still harbor a little resentment. Okay, so I haven’t shopped the brand since. Oops. The thing about a good pant is that it can make you look two sizes smaller, and can turn little legs into those of an Athenian goddess. Goals.

It’s not all about the skinny leg, though. Sometimes I just want something with some flare. From where I’m standing, there are no downsides to the wide leg styles that are sneaking into stores: they’re classic, they’re comfortable, they’re lengthening, and they instantly make you feel trés chic the moment you slip them on. Definitely the next must-have moment. Try on a few and see for yourself.
