Metallic Fit Flops “The Electra”: For Snobs or Slobs?

metallicfitflops.jpg

I reported on Fit Flops two years ago and declared them for slobs because I thought they were hideous. Many of you argued that they are comfortable and that you notice a difference in your derriere after wearing them. Now whether it’s because you’re apt to walk more because you have them or that they are actually a miracle sandal is yet to be seen. I’m about to get my first pair of Fit Flops because I plan on judging for myself in person. Now I need to decide which pair to get– I didn’t like the sporty ones but the black metallic pair will be okay to run around in pool beach/side this summer.  I still think they’re ugly but I am not making a fashion statement here, I just want to see if they really work.

What do you think? Are they worth the $59? Available at Macys

From Fit Flops PR: Created by Marcia Kilgore of Bliss Spa fame, FitFlops debuted to a waiting list of 10,000 in 2006.  Biomechanically designed with a midsole that extends the amount of time slow twitch muscles – which convert fat to energy – are engaged during each step, wearing FitFlops literally help you tone and trim with every step you take. In addition to obvious beauty benefits, FitFlop has also been heralded as a medical miracle by hundreds of wearers claiming relief from problems ranging from plantar fasciitis and heel spurs to chronic back pain and sciatica (just to name a few.

I’ll let you know if any of these claims are true after my experiment!

I agree with your assesment of these awful flops. The metallic is only slightly better but still fugly. Spend an hour on the treadmill a day, it will work better. I saw a woman with these on just the other day. Awful!

I bought a couple pairs of these a year ago. I wear them around the house, outside with my plants, by the pool. If you walk for excercise, they are OK for that. Of course you can’t run in them, for obvious reasons. They are VERY comfortable. I have lost weight in the last year, but can’t say its all Fitflops, as I have been watching my diet, but they may have helped, They make you about 1 1/2 in. taller, which is good for me. I am 5′ 5″. They also are more stable and stay on better than regular flipflops. The solid color soles look better .Good luck, Tina. Too bad we can’t wear Louboutins all day!!
