I love my mother more than words can say and she’s not one to pamper herself, at all. She puts everyone before herself. Every mother’s day I struggle with what to get her. Nothing seems good enough! In the end what makes her the happiest is to get a card and reassurance that I’m happy (they say a mother is only as happy as her least happy child…). But a little something extra can’t hurt! Here are a few ideas to get the creative juices flowing…
Bobble Insulate Water Bottle
If you’re looking to help mom keep her hot or cold beverage at the right temperature checkout Bobble Insulate Water Bottle ($25). For better or worse I always drink iced coffee when I workout and this bottle keeps it chilled way longer than a regular thermos. Bobble also happens to be a favorite of celeb moms like Olivia Wilde, Natalie Portman, and Jennifer Garner…
I could go on and on about how much I love Alala. Their clothes look and feel great – even after countless washes. I can’t think of a more adorable gift for an active new mom than something from their new mommy and me line. The limited edition collection, called Alala Mini, is an online exclusive available in four sizes for girls 4-12 (XS-L), and 3 colors – smoke print, palm print, and shiny black for $48.
First Aid Beauty
First Aid Beauty (FAB) is one of the few brands I trust – especially before and after I workout. They’re made especially for sensitive skin and when I sweat like crazy and have blood rushing to my face it’s imperative that I pay particularly close attention to what I have and will be putting on my skin. Needless to say it’s great news that they recently launched a fitness-inspired range of products. It includes: Hello FAB Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer ($28), Hello FAB 3 in 1 Superfruit Color Correcting Cushion ($36), Hello FAB Vital Greens Face Mist ($18), and Hello FAB Caffeine Matcha Wake Up Wipes ($15 for 25 wipes). You can also get a perfect for mother’s day four-piece gift set for $34.
As we get older and our metabolism slows down, most women gain weight. Regular exercise helps curb how fast our metabolism slows down. I for one know that the very moments I need to workout the most (ie after eating way too much junk…), are the ones where I want to workout the least which is where Power 7/8 Mesh Leggings ($115) come in. They’re the best leggings when it comes to sucking you in without making you feel like you’re stuck in a sausage casing. Basically they’ll trim you out without feeling like Spanx. They also come in a growing list of design options. I love the white for spring/summer.
If your mom is not only posh, but also a Bag Snob– the new Gabrielle is the bag of the season. In distressed lambskin and two toned hardware, the quilted backpack version will make for a perfect splurge for your mama. $3,000 at Chanel.
Checkout waxseals.com for a unique touch if your mother is the kind of lady who appreciates the small details. You can choose from a long list of pre-designed ones or design your own. You can even send them an image, as I did, and they will turn it into a seal.
Mosaic Photo Books
If Snapfish isn’t your mom’s thing, checkout Mosaic, a really cool, easy-to-use app that lets you make mom a keepsake photo album. What I love about it is that it’s designed specifically to be used straight from your iPhone. No uploading pics from your iPhone to your desktop/laptop and then sorting/uploading to a platform. Mosaic lets you pick 20 photos from your Camera Roll, albums, or Photostream, which are then printed to a 20-page book for $20. It ships 4 days later. It looks beautiful and you can do it in less than 5 minutes.
Mastrad Paris Deco Veggie Slicer with 2 Blades
Mastrad Paris makes a long list of awesome kitchen products (from prep to baking to accessories). Zoodles are a big trend so if your mom is either interested in healthy eating or into beautifully decorated plates, checkout the brand’s Deco Veggie Slicer with 2 Blades ($7.99). It’s super easy to use and the kind of thing that a mom who has it all probably doesn’t have yet.
Le Pain Quotidien Bakery Classes
Is your mom interested in baking? Checkout Le Pain Quotidien’s “school.” They offer a curated list of classes in cities around the country where you can learn how to make everything from challah to baguette. Other ideas are flower arranging classes (my mother loved a class she took a few years ago at Ovando!) or cupping classes if your mom is a coffee lover.
The softest and smoothest robe to ever touch mom’s skin made of silk cashmere ethically sourced from Mongolia. Get it monogrammed for an added luxe touch! $155

I love Glam & Go. I used them for my engagement party and my hair was styled quickly and exactly how I wanted. Taking mom to dinner? Why not pamper her before. They offer one-time services ($25-$45) in addition to Blowout Packages ($135-$225), which include:
- Express Style – 15 minute styling for $25
- Signature Blowout – 30 minute blowout for $45
