A new Creative Director means a fresh, new vision for Nina Ricci. Guillaume Henry, the man who revitalized Carven into the covetable brand we now know, was appointed to the French house this past autumn. I, for one, am quite excited for his transformative vision.
It’s already apparent in their latest bag release: the Faust bag makes for a thoroughly modern update at Nina Ricci. A classic bucket with sporty details? This is a far cry from the ballerina-inspired ballerina-inspired totes and hyper-feminine clutches of seasons past. A little breezy and a bit more casual yet not without a high degree of polish, the Faust represents a new breed of ease. The contrasting suede lining – the large black version features burnt orange and the medium tan showcases saffron yellow – translates to a playful attitude, free of gimmicks or artifice. With an inherently cool Parisian vibe in check, I can’t wait to see what Henry turns out next. Nina Ricci bag available in medium tan, $2,190, and large black, $2,500, at Barneys New York.
Wear with: Keep it chic and flat with Loewe’s braid-accented leather loafers, for a modern spin on day-dressing. On NET-A-PORTER for $690.
