Nike and Lululemon were pioneers in the workout and shop concept – both brands have been hosting free workouts in their stores for years and, in the case of Nike, even allow you to test out some of their gear. A new crop of brands, however, are taking this to the next level. Bandier was one of the first to do this with the opening of Studio B, but personally I find their selection pales in comparison to Carbon 38, the best destination for athleisure shopping in my opinion. They also have the best photography to really see details, if you’re not shopping IRL. I am obsessed with their namesake collection! I mean how sick are ALL these pieces!? I’m curious how hand crocheted stitching will stand up to sweat and washing, but judging by their track record it shouldn’t be a problem. Now you can checkout all the merch and enjoy special events all summer long at their Hamptons location. For example today and tomorrow they’re offering a free HITT-meets-barre workout with Tatiana Lampa (email RSVP@carbon38.com).
Another favorite is ALO Yoga. I’ve been wearing pieces from the brand for a few weeks now and out of the 4 pieces, I wear three of them outside of the gym on the regular. They not only work as RTW in look, but the quality holds up (ie look great even after washing). So many brands promise to take you from the gym to the bar, but few actually do and I can certainly see ALO overshadowing Lululemon after stopping by their gorgeous and expansive Soho store. Not only do they have a fantastic collection, they have a great workout space with a number of popular instructors and a cafe selling organic juices, coffee, and snacks. They also have comfy chairs (saw a few husbands/boyfriends chilling there!). This is definitely a place you could EASILY spend a few hours. Snag the top pictured above now! It’s on sale for just $59…I’ve been wearing it non-stop!
Lastly, you don’t need to know me well to know that my absolute favorite workout is Barry’s Bootcamp. If you read this blog regularly you’ve likely also read about my love for Alala many times (I couldn’t be happier for them to see how much they’ve grown in 4-plus years!) now both have come together for an exclusive Alala x Barry‘s branded retail collection dropping today at Barry‘s Bootcamp locations worldwide and online (there are select opportunities to monogram gear depending on studio location). Barry’s has been steadily growing their selection of clothing. I used to buy pieces only when I forgot a change of clothes, but now there are countless temptations every time I go take a class and I’m sure the Alala pieces will be chief among them.
