Tod's is the most amazing label when it comes to bags that fit an active lifestyle - some might mistaken this virtue as boring but I own more Tod's than any other and believe it or not, I am still not bored! Far from it. How can a consistent go-to bag be boring? And because of that, it is a great value. Especially this coated canvas for $995. The center panel looks like patent and the sides are textured so you get the contrast. I love the details on the shoulder strap, just a bit of hardware brings the eye over to take notice. And don't even get me started on the color! This blueish gray is so perfect, but I am trying to convince myself it is more gray than blue because I've noticed that I have 3 blue Tod's bags already. This is such a great throw around, run around bag that sits on the shoulder comfortably. I can not say enough about how important that is because those are the bags you end up using the most! At Neiman Marcus for $995.

Jimmy Choo launched their PEP Collection to benefit Project PEP with the Elton John AIDS Foundation. This project supports the funding of the Simelela Centre in South Africa and 25% of net sales from this limited edition collection will go directly to this effort. Jimmy Choo has a dedicated site "Jimmy Choo 72" to host this project as well as hold a competition called "You, Your Shoe Size and 72". The Vibrant Capsule Collection features a distinctive and collectible punk rock motif print representing Jimmy Choo's passionate and individualist spirit. The number "72" is key because after exposure to HIV, victims of rape have just 72 hours to visit the Simelela Centre and start a course of potentially lifesaving PEP treatment. This effort along with the Elton John Foundation ensures this clinic stays open 24/7 for the crucial PEP treatment. The complete accessories collection includes this tote, a clutch, jewelry, shoes, scarf, belt and phone tag (a strap). The super cool and high energy tote is $995 for large tote and $795 for smaller tote.
It is true Lanvin has lost its luster but there are still a couple of bags that are worthy of my desire, like this Happy Quilted Clutch. Notice I used desire instead of "lust", this just isn't one of those bags that begs for my attention. But if you need a good clutch, this does fit the bill. The trend now is to go for a standout clutch that makes the outfit, like a Derek Lam or McQueen that will start conversations but sometimes all we need is a wallflower clutch that just sits back and blends in. Yeah, that was a really nice way to say this is boring but with the beautiful quilted light bronze satin and cool oversized turn lock closure, it does have many positive details to rave about. At Barneys New York for $1305.

Just when I thought designers have exhausted all ways of interpreting CHANEL's classic chain shoulder bag, YSL surprises me with Le Sixième. I'm not usually into stamped exotics but I have a sample of YSL's Roady hobo stamped stingray sitting in my room right now and I have to tell you, it's incredible how real it feels and looks! Le Sixième is a Net-a-porter.com exclusive so I'll have to stop at their office later if I want to see it in person but from the photos, pretty damn fabulous! Let's start with the chain, I like the open rings mixed with it (Givenchy did something similar with multi chains that I found too busy) but am a bit concerned with lack of shoulder strap rest. Just don't wear this with a bare shoulder and you should be fine. Long haired snobs should also be careful. The body of the bag is structured yet supple, the printed stingray is as sturdy as the real thing so the top should not collapse into the bag. Like the CHANEL, there is a flap back pocket, too! For $1,695 you'll get a dose of timeless classic in a must have exotic look. Not bad!

Retro is definitely in. Halston is of course very 70's so it's not as in as the 80's and 60's these days but that could be a good thing. You will be above the fray, even though the return of 70's seem to be more frequent than necessary. Aside from the decade trend war, this clutch is amazing in its simplicity and function. A sturdy wristlet on a generously sized clutch makes life easier in many ways. The vibrant blue is spectacular! It's one of those colors that can go with anything because it stands on its own. You can be very Carrie Bradshaw with this and wear it with the most unlikely outfit. The more it doesn't match, the more awesome it is! At Net-a-Porter for $1395.

The first days of Fall brought with it a welcoming chill but I am already missing the warm days of summer (like my husband says, there is just no pleasing me!). However, I am not missing summer for the temperature but for the colors-- I dread the dreary shades of autumn! Browns and pumpkin shades are just not for me, I prefer the happy bright colors of spring, all year long. Luckily, my favorite color (that would be pink if you're new to the blog) is the preferred hue of spring/summer 2010. Even Anya Hindmarch takes a walk on the pink side (a departure from her usual muted shades!) with the "Gracie" Shoulder bag in Fuscia Pink calf leather ($850)-- it is the must have shape in the shade of the season. Each season Anya updates her shoulder chain bag-- this time it's in a graduated vertical pleat that lends elegance to her classic silhouette. The chain is lightened up and the shoulder strap is lengthened-- Anya certainly listens to her customers! The "Rochelle"clutch is also a gorgeous burst of color in purple raffia ($295), this will be amazing on summer nights. The Spring 2010 collection will be available starting next February at Anya boutiques near you. You can also shop Anya Hindmarch bags here.
I've been having some travel dramas lately and I've decided, I need to just do it right and travel in style. Life is seriously too short to suffer while traveling, I mean what's the point? I'd rather just stay home. Yes, this is my age talking but it is what it is. I am over it. I have been super practical traveling with a Victorinox or Samsonite trolley my whole life, but I think I travel enough to justify shifting some of my bag expenses over to travel bags. The first thing I'm going to buy is this Chanel trolley from the new Coco Cocoon collection. The collection has super puffy quilted totes that are reversible and an array of travel bags. But how incredible is this quilted trolley? It is meant as a carry on so I can make sure it stays nice. The top zip duffel style is way easier to use than a typical suitcase carry on, you can get to your things without having to lay down the suitcase, unzip, etc. I am still not ready to justify the lambskin which is $4125, you know how sensitive that Chanel lamb is but the nylon for $2700, totally doable. The nylon only comes in black but the lambskin comes in black and red. Call Alexis at 214-520-1055 or (800) 550-0005 to purchase.
