As you know, there’s the usual appetite for clutches at these type of events, and to be honest, I’m unfazed by it all. Apart from the standout Judith Leiber minaudieres, you can bet I’m more interested in the elaborate gowns and chic ensembles. That’s not to say there aren’t some noteworthy clutches! (and by that, I mean three). There’s also a new exciting Burberry bag that two celebs are coveting!
See the mix of celebs and their bags as they hit the film festival trail below!
Iskra Lawrence, Gucci Dionysus
Glam British model Iskra is clinging her Dionysus and slinking about at Cannes, all the while looking fab.
Kristen Stewart, Chanel Backpack
Chanel muse Kristen Stewart is dutifully carrying her Chanel backpack, which looks jam packed. I guess you can never be too prepared for whatever happens at Cannes.
Rai Aishwarya, Burberry Belt Bag
I love this Burberry Belt bag because it looks massively functional. The belt distraction is also a great identifier to spot your bag. The bag debuted on the Fall ’18 runway, and is Christopher Bailey’s last collection for the British heritage brand. Ps- How adorable is Rai’s daughter!
Bella Hadid, Dior Vintage Boston
Being the Dior spokesmodel, Bella’s toting her bag vintage style. She’s always had a proclivity for 90’s dressing and vintage is very much an extension of that.
Bella Hadid, Judith Leiber Faceted Box Clutch
A red carpet event is not a red carpet unless there’s a Judith Leiber clutch and here it is! It’s geometric and sharp with the intent of gaining your attention, although Bella’s Ellie Saab dress was certainly competing for it.
Cate Blanchett, Alexander McQueen Pin Bag
Cate does enjoy pajama inspired outfits, saves her the trouble from changing before heading to sleep. Even then, she still looks polished.
Cate Blanchett, Burberry Belt Bag
Cate’s also a fan of the Burberry Belt bag. As you’d imagine, it’d be very handy at airports as a carry on.
Cate Blanchett, Tyler Ellis and Elizabeth Stewart Ivy Tote
Cate supports Elizabeth Stewart, her stylist who is translating her skills into the handbag business. Cate’s also been seen carrying a navy version of the Ivy tote. Who knew Cate paid people to dress her.
Diane Kruger, Dolce and Gabbana Queen of Hearts Box Clutch
Okay, I know a clutch disguised as a card isn’t the best clutch for all occasions but Diane matched hers by wearing a medieval looking shift dress. All you need is the same outfit and you’re good to go.
Jennifer Connelly, Louis Vuitton Speedy
The Speedy gets a patina finish and Jennifer employs some biker sensibilities to showcase her skills in contrasting apparel styles.
Thank you, it’s the Stella McCartney Falabella in wicker.
Julianne Moore, YSL Suplice
I’m unsure with this whole airport arrival outfit (mainly the thongs) but no matter, her smile is beaming and I can overlook it all.
Lea Seydou, Louis Vuitton Fall ’18
Lea got her lucky hands on a new Louis Vuitton bag from the Fall ’18 runway. Everything about her style is Cate Blanchett 2.0.
Finally, this American Hong Kong actress can do martial arts. Despite her demure appearance, she can literally kick ass. I love the clutch’s mosaic-like detailing that serves as a nice foreground to a heavenly plisse backdrop. She’s wearing Christian Dior, but I don’t think her clutch is. That butterfly ring too..
