Swedish cool-girl luxe label, Acne Studios (which is an acronym for Ambition to Create Novel Expressions, in case you were ever curious or perplexed by the name) is my go-to brand for unique pieces. Now I’m so excited about the launch of their bags. Three themes and multiple sub-styles equal bags for the girl who is always on the go and unafraid to try new adventures.
The Hero and Buckle, a bucket inspired by the “uselessness of champagne bags” and the tops of pairs of jeans, pack their own appeal, but my favorites are the Rope Jungle backpack and Rope Hip bag. The high-impact whipstitched rope serves a practical purpose – to reduce the volume of the bags for a cinched effect, but the result is a vibe that’s youthful and athletic.
“For me a bag is more than an object, it’s a personal thing. When I started looking at bags, the intention was not to do an ‘it-bag,’ but to explore the world of bags and create different styles and character,” Creative Director Jonny Johansson said. “I really enjoy designing bags since it’s so sculptural, almost like creating a piece of art.” The feeling is mutual, Jonny! Acne bags available for $380-$1,750 exclusively at Acne Studios.
