Alexander McQueen is worth starving for

Who needs food when you can have these gorgeous Alexander McQueen dresses? I may sound like the most shallow girl alive but I would gladly give up food for this amazing collection. It could not have arrived at a worse time though– everyone is making me feel as if I should stop buying things (everyone meaning my hubby and his friends)!! But if everyone were to stop shopping, the economy would REALLY be in trouble! Luckily I am a reasonable girl and am willing to compromise. So I was thinking if I stopped doing girls’ dinners at expensive restaurants I can get a dress or two. And if I’m not eating out and getting fat from rich foods and wines, I won’t need my trainer as often which means I can get another dress from the money I save. I’ll make my hubby take me out on date nights more often from all this money I’m saving, too. I have to wear these dresses somewhere. Or maybe I’ll offer to cook him gourmet meals at home wearing these dresses Hum, I am on to something here. Let me work it out with the hubby and keep you posted.

What about you? What would you give up in this economy but what won’t you compromise on? Alexander McQueen at

Tina you seem to give your hubby a bad rep….we hear so much about him have you not enrolled him in the snob family?! I love it that not only your hubby but his friends know your a spendaholic!!

I could give up food for that LB & Cream D on the right….and what wiht giving up food I also wouldn’t have to pay my steep gym membership along with all the gym gear, trendy bag, sweat gear why i could actually pick up two of these little beauties!!!

BTW we never had the pink version on the UK site…why is it that british designers always seem to give America more choice along with cheaper prices, RM, Smythsons….If you ever interview them do ask the question for me!!

Do let us know how the talking round of the hubby goes and whihc little dress you snag!

Lottie you’re right, he wouldn’t be a guy if he didnt comment on everything you buy…FYI-Tina~~I don’t know of any hubby/guy who isn’t “ba hum bug” about a womens shopping habits..but like Lottie said, at least you do earn some sort of an income. and I’m guessing its not to SHABBY of an income…

    LOL, you guess right 🙂

But I’ve always had my own money and shopped how I please. Getting married was weird because now there is a person making a running commentary on habits I’ve had for a lifetime.

But Tina no matter what he says I’m sure you wouldn’t be without him, sometimes there comments are so funny, they have there thing and we have ours!

Talking of dresses….you seem like a dress girl I know your a lover of RM, do you have a herve leger in your wardrobe as I have not yet seen a review on Coiuture snob yet, I love some of there new spring 09 looks! I’m yet to pick one out for myself i hve been told that the bandage effect does slack off after a few wears…is this true?

Believe me Tina, I know what you mean, I’ve learned to tune him out with his “running commentary” about my shopping habits.(and perhaps about a few other things. lol)it takes practice, That’s prob why I’ve been married 15 years. lol

LOVE Leger… own at least 5 Herver Leger dresses. One very very old 🙂 I do not have issues with the bandage effect, but then i don’t wear mine that often. I even have a full length black tie Leger gown, to die! xoxo

You are too funny. I would give up food for this, too! That dress on the left is so fabulous I can’t take it.

Can you perhaps offer an inexpensive alternative?

oh tina– i adore the dress on the left! with the economy the way it is, it shouldn’t be long before that puppy goes on sale, no? 🙂 i recently purchased my first mcqueen dress and really love it. i think great fashion is worth making minor sacrifices.
