Hear me out: buying a new party dress might be your most important purchase all season long, and I can prove it.
First of all, there’s almost a no better way to get into the festive spirit than by finding the perfect dress. The holidays are stressful, and if that’s all it takes to avoid a meltdown, it’s worth it in my book. Over the years the practice of picking a new party dress has also been a great way to edit my wardrobe. If November rolls around and I’m not excited about wearing any of the pieces I’ve already got, I know that it’s probably time to donate one or two (or five).
But in the end, it all comes down to the feeling you get when you take that first spin. It’s just you, the mirror, and the dress – and it is magical. Maybe it sparkles, maybe it flows, maybe it’s drop-dead dramatic, but no matter what style you fall in love with it makes even the dreariest of events more exciting.
