Dresses and jewels weren’t the only things to shine on the Grammys red carpet. Check out my breakdown of the best and brightest bags from music’s busiest weekend.
The Grammys preshow coverage is the most entertaining of all award-season shows. I can always count on pop princesses, rock stars and rappers to bring out the shine, sparkle, flash and then some on the red carpet.

In a slinky, peekaboo Gucci dress and carrying a sharply geometric clutch, the curvy model instantly outshined any rock star. She also proved that white can be far edgier than any all-black look.
The Vampire Diaries star went for ample drama with her semi-sheer gown, but it’s her Swarovski clutch, featuring a whimsical swan motif, that wins the award for most sparkly bag.
Truth be told, I’d have no idea who she was if it weren’t for my 10-year-old son’s propensity for Nickelodeon shows. Pairing a glamorous Versace gown — a surprising choice for the teen dream — with an elegant clutch, she was the picture of sophistication.
Reminding us that less can be more, J. Hud’s simple, strapless Tom Ford dress attracted the most attention amongst a sea of bling. A sleek mirrored clutch made for a minimally glam union.
The Grammy winner was pure country royalty with a color-popped black dress and her real eye-catcher: a flirty, Pop art-inspired clutch.
Going for deliciously simple, Nick Jonas’ date flaunted beauty queen-caliber elegance in a demure black gown and matching clutch.
Staying true to herself, Taylor was all sugary sweetness in a pale blue Osman romper and Edie Parker clutch at the Clive Davis pre-Grammy gala. Though I would ditch the ubiquitous Saint Laurent Tribute sandals for a modern update.
It’s so unfair that Miley Cyrus is double fisting the best arm candies of the pre-Grammy party: plus-one Patrick Schwarzenegger and a shoulder-strapped evening bag in shimmering silver.
The eternally chic and seemingly ageless Courteney Cox stunned with Jennifer Meyer jewels and a crystal-topped black satin clutch. A far cry from her Springsteen-groupie debut!
