Best Opalescent Nail Polishes: Fall Frosting

Best Opalescent Nail Polishes

When you think of frosted nail polishes, you probably think back to those scary ‘80s shades, yet thanks to new technology, you can get your shine with shimmer and depth. Trust me, I never thought I’d recommend frosty green polish, but there you have it – I’m sporting Chanel’s Alchimie (at Chanel for $27) as I type this. Just make sure to keep your nails short with these colors – no pointy dragon lady talons!

Best Opalescent Nail Polishes

Essie for the Twill of It Nail Polish:icon Essie has six new shades for fall – this one being the boldest. The oil slick style reminds me of Proenza’s mini PS11 – a dark hue that in the right light will show you every shade of the rainbow. At Neiman Marcus for $8.

Tom Ford Beauty Nail Lacquer:icon When my boyfriend Tom Ford put out a polish called Dominatrix, I was of course intrigued. Who else could make grape look so seductive? At Neiman Marcus for $30.

Yves Saint Laurent La Laque Couture:icon Your bronze glow may be fading, but your nails can keep their tan all year-round with YSL. Besides, metallic nails are in – just ask Queen Bey. At Barneys New York for $25.

Estee Lauder Limited Edition Nail Lacquer:icon With added shine, blue (one of the tougher hues to pull off), becomes muted and wearable. At Neiman Marcus for $20.

Guerlain Color Lacquer:icon For a more classic color, try Guerlain’s shimmery pale pink. While it’s certainly not a fall hue, that’s exactly what will make you stand out. At Neiman Marcus for $23.
