It’s 4th of July! I hope you’re out celebrating with friends and family and enjoying a long, relaxing weekend. Summer tends to be filled with lots of get togethers and BBQs and, if you’re like me, and don’t like to cook or bake, you usually resort to bringing some sort of booze when you’re invited someplace.
You can still make a lasting impression without bringing a bottle of Dom. In fact not only that, but there are growing number of brands that allow you to be frugal without looking cheap because the packaging and branding are just super fun or they have a unique premise (like being low in calories).
FitVineWine is a great go-to for anyone who’s health and/or calorie-conscious. It’s a better-for-you wine that has less sugar and lower sulfites per glass than normal wine – without sacrificing the alcohol content. The lower sulfite numbers mean you’re less likely to get a hangover and get to that AM bootcamp class. They I have a fast-growing assortment of options including Rosé, Pinot Grigio, Sauv Blanc, and Prosecco and there are a ton of under $20 bottles.
I did a tasting of all the Miami Cocktail Company options when I was in Miami and literally, they were all delicious! I cannot thing of a more refreshing line to reach for if you’re planning for a boat day. Their cans haven’t launched yet outside of Florida, but I had a chance to try them and they’re awesome – very refreshing and they have no added sugars. The ingredients are clean – zero fillers – not like competitors (ahem Skinnygirl…). The line is also organic and non-GMO.
I have to say I know nothing about tequila and I found out I was pregnant around the time I was sent a bottle of Jaja, but it’s undoubtedly the tequila of 2019 – sorry Casamigos. Thanks to presence at events like Revolve at Coachella and the fact that one of the brand’s three co-founders is @fuckjerry, there has been serious viral and cool factor appeal. They also have some pretty awesome ad campaigns and great packaging.
Another brand with major Instagram influence, is Babe Wine. It was recently bought by Anheuser-Busch, but was founded by @thefatjewish and the branding is AMAZING! Their party in a box is, in my opinion, the best $50 you can spend on a hostess gift. It’s so funny and the product is actually very refreshing.
