All hail the blazer. Anything that makes it easier for me to get some weekend wear out of my 9 to 5 wardrobe is a win in my book, and the blazer has always been a go-to in that department. Boxy, structured silhouettes dominated the runway this season, and traditionally-masculine styling is having a serious moment. The best thing about the blazer renaissance of 2018 is the amazing range of styles that designers like Fendi, Balmain, and Balenciaga have delivered.
From oversized options to fitted military styles, everyone’s getting in on the action. While the late 80s are the undisputed champion of the structured blazer (Julia Roberts pretty much wrote the book on the look), this time around the styling is slightly sleeker. I’m loving the way that a monochrome turtleneck pairs underneath a simple check pattern, and solid black piece with military detailing over a crimson silk button up is a total power look.
Adding a blazer to just about any outfit takes it to a 10, but layering on top of a blank slate is my favorite styling strategy. Suit up with one of these stunners.
