I’m a cereal addict, but there aren’t that many you can count on to fuel your day. Most of them are filled with so much sugar they’ll do nothing besides make you crash and burn. But there are some amazing exceptions. First up Magic Spoon. The brand just launched and while the marketing is kid-friendly, it’s definitely nutritionally adult-approved. All of their cereals have just 3g net carbs! (Net carbs: Carbs-Fiber), 12g complete protein, 110 calories, and nothing artificial. And they taste amazing. I’ve even been using them in my pancakes as thickener as a sweet alternative to GG crackers.
If you’re looking for a morning smoothie, Daily Harvest is a standout. They also make a few bowl options. Everything is delivered to you pre-cut and ready to pop into your blender. The fruit quality and combinations is the real difference here. They really go out of their way to make unique combos that taste amazing.
I’m obsessed with Hungryroot! I could eat their dishes all day, every day. Everything they have is pre-made and ready-to-eat or pre-prepped and requires very little work to eat. I’m partial to their black bean brownies and chickpea cookies, but those aren’t great for breakfast (despite their fiber and protein), instead checkout their gluten-free pancakes made using a quinoa, amaranth, and flax. Top with Sukrin – instead of maple syrup – for extra fiber.
Oats Overnight is a great option for when you’re on-the-go. All you do is add 8 ounces of your preferred milk alternative (unsweetened almond milk is my go-to) to the packet of oats, shake in a Blender Bottle, and refrigerate overnight…it will be ready for you to eat on-the-go in the morning. They have plant-based options which are great source of protein for vegans (20-22 grams) and I love that you can use the oats in cookies, pancakes, or healthy waffles. Again, instead of GG crackers as my base, my usual go-to, I’ve tried these and they work great (and are a lot tastier…). The classic flavors have 32-34 grams of protein.
I mean…. how delicious does that look!? Happy Healthy Co makes a handful of overnight oats options, all of which are free of additives, preservatives, and added sugars – everything is all-natural and non- GMO. They’re also eco with their packaging. The oats come in 10oz pre-portioned tubs packed with dry ice so you just keep it frozen till you’re ready to eat. The ingredients are super clean. The above for example is made only with: Raspberries, Oats, Blueberries, Dragon Fruit. They also make smoothie and acai bowls.
