Chanel has always had a classic menu of bags that’s reliably cool and stylish (even those from gran’s closet, or we should say especially those!). All they have to do is tweak their accessories lineup with different fabrications and finishes, and time and again, we obsess over it as if we have never set eyes on the holy grail brand of bags before.
For this year’s Cruise 2019 bag collection though, Chanel has decided to serve up something fresh in form of a new version of their uber popular “Le Boy” bag. The biggest thing you’ll notice is the Boy’s latest proportion which is stretched vertically down, making it look like an odd-looking oblong shape. After your eyes quickly adjust, you’ll start to appreciate the youthful notes of the original boxy structure in its new modern update.
To my mind, Karl Lagerfield chose the perfect candidate to shape-shift its way into fans’ hearts. Choosing the Millennial-friendly bag to tinker with shows that Chanel can do classic but also modern at the same time. Who knew a tiny adjustment could be so ingenious?
Now we’d like to know what you think about Chanel’s new Boy bag shape. Yay or nay?
