Chloe Double Zip Paddington

chloedetail.jpgHow many more styles can they stretch the Paddington before it’s popularity wears off? I was a fan of the original and have not bought into the tote or other Paddington styles but I have to say, this double zipped version is really cute. I like that the front flap with the heavy hardware is gone and they made the lock smaller (but I’d still remove it before using unless you have vertebraes made of steel). It’s also a couple of inches smaller in width than the original which will be good for my petite frame. The slouchy silhouette has been modernized in tune with the season’s cleaner lines but the soft leather and gorgeous stitching and detailing remain. As for the delightfully elegant color they named “Mouse”, well, let’s just say it’s anything but mousy. We predict that Chloe loyalists will be jumpin’ all over the latest incarnation of the phenomenally popular Paddington! $1,755 at Net-a-Porter.

I have felt for a long time that Mouse is the quintessential Chloe color! Are those dreadlocks spawning from the top of the lock though, or are they meant to be (gorilla size) zipper pulls?? Brook , London

Those are actually zipper pulls that aren’t as prominent as they are making it in the photo. Dont’ know what they did that. The original has similar pulls and you don’t see it as much!

It looks quite masculine to me. I think I might buy one.

Meh, not doing it. What is the deal with those shoelaces? (Rhetorical question. I know you already answered that.)

I also own the Paddington but find it much too heavy for regular shopping trips, and especially now while preggers. Even though I think Chloe’s latest line is ghastly, this bag is a definite winner!

I saw this bag at the Chloe boutique. Those zipper pulls are not so bad in person. The color is really great, it’s a pretty and soft gray color. I am thinking about getting it.

Hey! I saw this bag in person today at Liberty. You were totally right! In person, the zipper pulls aren’t nearly as long as they are in the photo. Brook , London

Have you ever heard of VOGUELAND? It is an

on-line store that sells high-end Designer handbags. Do you know if they sell “authentic” handbags (mainly Chloe)?

    Here is their website:
