COR Silver Soap Update: 30 day review and COR Silver Eye Cream

corsoapandcream.jpg

After reading my review last month, the nice folks at COR sent me 4 mini sample size soaps that would last a few months.  I diligently used it nightly (no matter how late hubby and I got home from date nights) and have determined the following:

1. This is the best cleansing soap in the market and removes all traces of make up without drying the skin.
2. After 30+ days of use, my skin is not blue and does not show any signs of turning blue.
3. I no longer have any small ‘white’ heads on my forehead
4. Each tiny sample size lasted approximately 3 weeks which means the full size will last, like, a year!

I was also sent a sample of the COR eye cream which was very lightweight and ideal for day under make up.  It wasn’t as rich as I like my eye creams, however, so I won’t be buying anymore of this.  I do LOVE the soap and am going to purchase a full size soap when my little samples run out.  (Note: Beauty Snob Heidi bought the entire line after our friend Chloe raved about it and she loves the soap, too.  She did not like the creams.)

I remember reading the review on your blog, and wondering if it would really work. But now that you have confirmed it, I really want to try it. I’ve been using Estee Lauders Revj Toner, with gold flecks and they’ve been GREAT for my skin. I wonder what kind of effect silver would have.. Oh and it’s great that the full size would last a long time, after all the price is kind of hefty.. Thanks for the review!

Why don’t you spend $25 more and buy a colloidal silver generator? Then you could have the wonderful germ-killing properties of this soap in a handy little bottle that you can take with you wherever you go. I never go anywhere without CS in my purse. I’ve been schlepping it around for five years and it’s truly my little miracle in a bottle…not just for killing germs on my face, but also for killing germs on other things…like hands and shopping carts.

I’m sure that this soap does really work, but if you want a far, far more economical option that is super-kind to the earth, make your own.

i found this post when searching for info on cor because i wanted to know if it really worked and was worth the money. obviously i had no initial concerns about safety, but then i kept running into that whole thing about “turning blue.” so then i started researching that and was about to totally dismiss that possibility since all the cases seemed to be caused by actually ingesting silver (wtf?!). then i saw this case of a man who developed slight argyria after 23 years of use of a modern FDA-approved topical medication containing silver (link: http://dermatology.cdlib.org/144/ped_derm/arygyria/browning.html). now i’m completely freaked out again! i would absolutely love to try this product as i’ve been searching for an effective acne treatment forever and this seems so promising…but at the risk of turning blue?! i don’t doubt that 30 days of use is harmless, but what if a bunch of us are running around blue in ten years? yikes. what’s your take on this? if you have the resources to contact cor about this i would be interested to see their response. i want to try this product so bad!
