If you were stranded on a deserted island and could only have one beauty product, what would it be? Mine would be eye cream. Keeping the skin around my eyes smooth, glowing, and wrinkle-free has become somewhat of an obsession for me, and it will always remain one…even if my only companion is a deflated volleyball! I’ve long had three favorite creams that I alternate between depending on the season, but I’ve just found two new ones to add to the roster: Arcona’s Eye Dew Plus and iS Clinical’s Youth Eye Complex.
With liquid crystals creating a gorgeous opal hue that acts almost like a highlighter, the Eye Dew is perfect for daytime. And just so you know, a little goes a VERY long way, which I learned the first few times I tried this; I looked sweaty, like I’d just run a marathon (not necessarily a bad thing, I guess). With the right dose, though, the complex is super moisturizing, doesn’t crack or dry into lines, and keeps concealer looking fresh and dewy. There is one downside: the texture is sticky like glue, but if you spend a few seconds warming it up between your fingers or on the back of your hand, this is no downside at all. Think of it as a bonus treatment for your hands!
Then there’s iS Clinical’s Youth Eye Complex, aka my nighttime go-to. With only two days between New York Fashion Week and being in LA for the Oscars, I woke each day dreading the mirror, but was pleasantly surprised every time. While I usually go for heavy, oily eye creams, this light formula has proven to be just as effective. Combined with the Eye Dew for day, I’m ready to take on Paris Fashion Week – and any deserted islands in my future too, for that matter. Arcona Eye Dew Plus Anti-Aging Formula, $95, at Nordstrom and iS Clinical Youth Eye Complex, $95, on DermStore.
