Gucci Padlock Shoulder Bag: Gucci Gucci Goo

Gucci Padlock Shoulder Bag

Never has a brand gone from blah to bam as quickly as Gucci under the new direction of Alessandro Michele. The departure of Frida Giannini was welcomed by both the industry and consumers, along with longtime Gucci devotees, and it was a brilliant move on the brand’s part appointing their Senior Accessories Director, as this is a house known for their accessories. Consider this new phase a welcome return to the brand’s strengths.

The new Padlock shoulder bag is equally visually pleasing in fabulously clashing pink and red leather with their trademark interlocked-G pattern on canvas with a perky splash of blossoms. This closure, at once impactful and delicate, may look familiar. That’s because the Padlock bag has applied the exact same hardware as Gucci’s iconic travel trunks. This is quintessential Gucci from a fresh perspective. Now they’re really pleasing their core clientele, who now may be swayed to pick up a dress or two along with the new bag. Gucci Padlock shoulder bag available in red and pink leathericon, $2,190, and printed canvasicon, $1,950, for pre-order at Neiman Marcus (expect shipping by March 7th, just in time to kick off spring early).

Wear with: The Gucci girl loves a classic fedora, and Rag & Bone nails one of their trademark styles in navy blue wool-felt. On NET-A-PORTERicon for $195.

“The departure of Frida Giannini was welcomed by both the industry and consumers, along with longtime Gucci devotees”

Umm No. Frida had 1 bad season. I suspect it was because she was over worked and had to devote time to carrying and delivering a child. Which was her “bad” as the head of Gucci.
She gave GUCCI a lot of good years and made Gucci a lot of money. I have nothing but respect for her and her devotion to quality and respecting Gucci’s incredible heritage.
Yes Tom Ford was great at Gucci but not only did she keep Gucci’s sex appeal but she made it much more elegant. Hence the amazing success GUCCI had year after year under her guidance. Shareholders are behind the turnover of designers, the same thing happened to Marc Jacobs at Louis Vuitton. He had a bad season and he was out despite of all the years of success at LV.
Frida Giannini will always be respected and admired by long time Gucci devotees. She gave us so many stunning designs with impeccable craftsmanship that made their mark. Creations like the Sukey and the Gucci 1973 tote, etc.

I remember something similar was inferred about Galiano’s departure from Dior but Galiano is back and thriving.
