Hair and Makeup Brush Cleansers

You use your hair and makeup brushes every day, but how often do you clean them? While we’ve all been guilty of neglecting these essentials at one point or another, it’s a really simple practice to make time for. And it’s more important to do than you’d think. Dirty makeup brushes (though they may seem clean, if you don’t actually cleanse them, they aren’t) cause breakouts, so when you don’t remove all of the dander or makeup from the bristles, you’re creating a vicious cycle; more breakouts means more makeup to cover said breakouts, which means using the bacteria-laden brushes more. We wash our face and our hair, so why use dirty tools as soon as you step out of the shower? I clean mine each Sunday with baby shampoo. Once that’s done, I dry them flat or hang them upside down to prevent water from going down the shaft of the brushes. Easy! Here are some cleansers formulated specifically for the job…
