House of Holland Cube Clutches: Snob or Slob?

House of Holland Cube Clutches

Years ago, I bought a cube-shaped Chanel bag in quilted, black patent leather. Simple though it was, this cute, little silhouette always attracted attention; it was no surprise to me when Karl revisited the style a few seasons ago at Fendi with petite bag accents (the predecessors to Karlito and the monsters). Unfortunately, House of Holland’s interpretation is far less covetable. The metallic blue and purple die is much too juvenile for my taste, so no, I won’t be rolling the dice, even when I’m feeling kitschy in Vegas. Slightly better, though certainly not good, is the hodge podge of croc-effect calf hair and multi-colored snake-effect leather patchwork. It completely lacks direction, or at the very least, is running in too many directions at once. Nevertheless, both are eye-catching; expect to see them dangling off the wrists of street style stars come Fashion Month! What’s your take? Snob or Slob? Roll the Dice metallic leather clutchicon and Cube calf hair and leather clutchicon available on NET-A-PORTER for $535 each.
