I love The Rachel Zoe Project and it’s my husband’s fault!

00120m.jpgI am having a major Rachel Zoe moment. I feel ashamed and haven’t told anyone about it (especially Kelly).  It happened by accident a few weeks ago; I always miss the 8pm showing of Project Runway because I put my son to bed at 8:30 and by the time I turn on the TV, it’s over. Usually I’ll turn the TV off and work until the 11pm showing but this night, I decided to work with the TV on Bravo because my hubby was out of town and I didn’t want to work in silence(I thrive on chaos and noise which is why I wish I had 5 kids!). As I typed away on my computer, I heard Rachel Zoe’s voice come through the screen– I looked up and could not look away for the next 60 minutes!

The first episode I caught was when her assistants were fighting and her closet got flooded and almost ruined hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of couture gowns she had to return to designers.  She was freaking out and her hair was literally standing on end.  She’s a total train wreck and I love her!

Last night’s episode was about Fashion Week– and showed Rachel looking crazy skinny in one chic vintage gown after another.  A handsome (clean and sober) Marc Jacobs even made a cameo– doling out sage advice on the perils of being tabloid fodder (while eating a very hearty meal!).  Say what you will (and Kelly will have a lot to say about this– she’s going to make fun of me and I don’t care!) but I really enjoy watching her in action. There was a scene last night when Rachel was upset over gossip mags who claim she hasn’t eaten in a month and other non-sense, she was almost in tears. But in the next scene she was footloose and fancy free– packing for Fashion week– she packs 40 pairs of shoes for 8 days but only wears 10. She just likes the options. LOVE THAT! But what I really loved is her unabashed adoration of Fashion Week and attending the shows.  While Anna Wintour looks bored, Rachel is pinching herself that she is sitting front row. She said she once was a young stylist sneaking into the shows and is now living her dream. You go Zoe!  Rachel Zoe Project on Bravo every Tuesday at 10/9c or Wednesday night after Project Runway.

    Hi T

I was wanting to see her show….we don’t get it over here…weep! I thought you where not a fan of Zoe, have your paths ever crossed? Looking forward to Kelly’s comments!?! She does seem to have one style…Halston is very much her thing and I do think she dresses most of her clients especially in the Richie time like her mini me’s or should I say larger me’s, she surely can’t eat?

By the way did Kelly or you ever see that movie/tv programme about the Life of Coco Chanel?! I missed it just wondered whether it was worth trying to hunt on the net!

I am obsessed with the show too. I used to find her annoying, she’s still annoying but at least now it’s funny annoying.

Good thing I’m not the only closet Rachel Zoe project lover! We should start a club and discuss weekly. Actually we’re launching our community soon, we’ll start a group there 🙂

I agree, I want to take my scissors and chop it off for her! And yes, Brad is my favorite of the two assistants.

I was trying to think of one redeeming quality about why I watch this show, but I can’t. I just love it. It is a major guilty pleasure. It is just entertaining – an hour where I cant just look at beautiful clothes and listen to funny banter. Love it.

Coachwife– you said it perfectly! I am totally entertained when I watch it! I don’t even have to pay close attention so i can work at the same time. I just laugh and laugh.

I loved it when she said last night “I am a soldier”. It’s so stupid it’s hilarious! She makes fun of herself, which I love, too. It’s nice to see this side of her because she never smiles in photos.

OMG, I was watching last night’s episode on DVR when I opened your entry. Total guilty pleasure. She is so funny and nutty. Never in a million years did I think I would like Rachel Zoe, but I do…I love Brad and cannot stand Taylor. Mostly I want to give her a nice bath, wash her eyeliner off and snip those bangs…

I’ve read her book,Style A to Zoe and thought it was really good. Shame we don’t get to see that show in the UK…

You know, we gave away the A-Z book to many readers but I never read it myself. Now I am interested in reading it. This is a girl who has worked her entire life to be where she is. Why does everyone want to knock her down? Plus the celebs she styles look amaaaaaaaaaazing, Demi Moore? Debra Messin? Check check, I wish she’d style me! haha It would save me a lot of time and effort and I can focus on working more. I wonder how much she charges…

And did you guys notice how TINY she is? I have an affinity for tiny people, being one myself 🙂

It’s a vintage gown… she said she only wears vintage, ALWAYS. Because it’s amaaaaaaaaazing.

    LOL So funny!

I absolutely love the show! I don’t really follow all the negative press that surrounds her, however, her passion for fashion is infectious. AW’s jaded scowl irritates me to no end, and when I see Rachel jumping up and down in glee over a pearl-beaded shift dress (love Peter Som!!), I DIE!

Exactly! She truly has a passion for what she does, and it shows. I DIE, too!!!!!!! Heehee, we’re total dorks, sorta like the Trekkies for Star Trek.

It is tacky, it is superficial, and it is contagious, but only to those of us who drempt of clothing and fashion since the age of nine! She took my fairytale job since I was a girl, and made it her real life’s work. That is why we are all so in love with her, and the show. Thanks for living out our fantasy for us Racheal.

I love this show. Rachel is a bit hungry but funny. Whats her face, Taylor is so wretched its almost like shes faking just for the show. She always has a small smirk on her face. As for Brad, I LOVE HIM.
