I love working with Love Gold, seeking gorgeous jewels from across the globe. The best discoveries tend to be the ones you wouldn’t see in the average boutique, so when I spent a few weeks in LA this summer, I went hunting. Here are a few of the places I found, as well as some old favorites, where you can shop for unique, even one-of-a-kind jewels:
Platt Boutique Jewelry
8763 Rosewood Ave.
West Hollywood, CA 90048
This boutique is one of the most well curated vintage jewelry stores I’ve ever visited. And unlike so many others, the owners aren’t at all pushy or intimidating, but are so happy to sit and chat for hours about the pieces you’re lusting after. Ask as many questions as you want! They have everything from diamond and emerald rings fashioned into owls to my personal favorite, the Victoria era Lightening Bolt above, a rose gold pendant set with 145 Old Cut diamonds.
IF & Co. Custom Jewelry is where celebs like Tom Cruise and Oprah go for bespoke accessories. They flock to jeweler and founder, Ben Yang, for all of their special needs, whether it’s a diamond-encrusted grill or pudgy Pillsbury Doughboy!
While Just One Eye carries everything from clothes to sculptures to paperweights, it’s their incredible inventory of both costume and fine jewelry like this Wilfredo Rosado bracelet that has me going back for more.
314 S Beverly Dr.
Beverly Hills, CA 90212
This Beverly Hills spot is set up like a jewelry mart, with pieces in all sorts of price ranges. Looking for engagement rings? They’re known for their beautiful selection!
Town Center Jewelry Mart
17384 Colima Rd.
Rowland Heights, CA 91748
The name pretty much says it all. Vendors set up individually, hawking the latest and greatest costume jewelry from China. It’s like shopping in Hong Kong! Though the goods aren’t collectibles, you can get diamonds and gold at fashion jewelry prices.
