Hard times have hit Vera Wang‘s contemporary line, Lavender Label. Both Bergdorf Goodman and Saks have dropped the line for spring and even Neiman Marcus who had it in 30 stores has reduced it to single digit doors. Honestly, I am not surprised. Though I adore Vera Wang’s castle collection the Lavender Label has never been up to Vera’s par for me. Not that it was cheap, far from it, which may be the problem. The line’s price points were from $200-$800 which is on the very high end of contemporary. I purchased a few dresses from Lavender Label years ago and dubbed them “expensive” cheap clothes. The items were not of the best quality but I was buying it for Vera’s cool designs. Nowadays you can get pretty much the same stuff at Kohl’s, no wonder no one’s buying Lavender Label.
What about you– have you purchased Lavender Label in the past and will you continue?
