Prints Charming

Real talk: prints are scary. I rock an all black ensemble at least four days a week because there’s nothing more gratifying than mixing and matching the perfect outfit in less than 15 minutes. When it comes to pulling off a print, the bar is somehow set so much higher. The line between hot mama and hot mess is razor thin, and I usually prefer to play it safe. Recently, though, everyone from Kendall Jenner to Mary J. Blige have been seen sporting some serious pops of print, and as a lover of everything ostentatious I was on a mission to make it work.

What I’ve learned is that there are two ways for first timers to get started with prints: the one and done approach a la Kendall, and the matching set strategy, courtesy Ms. Blige. You could get daring and mix multiple prints, but that’s too advanced for me (and the rest of my all-black-everyday crew). Here are a few electrifying singles and sets to get you started.
