If there’s one bag that’s universally coveted, it’s got to be the Chanel Classic Handbag. It’s the definition of iconic. Its most widely recognizable quality, aside from the double C logo we all know and love, is its quilted finish. There’s just something about it that feels luxurious. Which, naturally, means it’s hard to resist anything that comes quilted.
And man, oh man, have designers answered that siren call. That’s not to say that it can’t be done badly, though. I have seen some pretty questionable quilted choices (who shall, of course, remain nameless). Here’s the thing – it really only looks good if it’s simple. And that’s the beauty of the quilted bag.
My go-to wardrobe rule is always to choose a black on black color scheme, but I’m living for quilted pops of color to spice up winter looks that are on the drier side. Plus, there are no styling tricks or tips to learn. You can throw pretty much any quilted bag on top of your outfit and breeze out the door. And that’s exactly the kind of everyday style I live for.
