I know pastel colors are the thing this season (and I thank Pantone for the sudden omnipresence of Rose Quartz and Serenity, a fresh take on sky blue), but I still love a good bold color story. Which is why I’m serving one up right now!
I live my life in bold colors, and I like my wardrobe to frequently reflect it. But it takes certain special pieces to remind us that primary colors are anything but commonplace. Pieces like Saint Laurent’s Cabas Rive Gauche tote, the perfect-sized day bag featuring a black body with handles, gussets, a base, and a key fob in unexpected colors I’m thrilled to see. You might say it offers enough excitement for one outfit, but I beg to differ. Enter this Moschino shift dress – a shining example of the brand’s irreverence when it really works – that features one of my favorite prints for spring. Because who doesn’t want more shoes? Paired with point-toed Givenchy pumps in lush blue suede (Saint Laurent offers an eerily similar pair) and, of course, a baseball cap in Tweety Bird’s likeness ($14.50 on Amazon), and you’ve got a look as bold as it is uncommonly beautiful. Okay, I don’t recommend the addition of the hat for actually hitting the town, but a little sense of humor goes a long way.
