Last night, I attended my first Footwear News Achievement Awards gala, which for a Shoe Snob is like being a kid in a candy store! I was there to celebrate SJP, winner of “Launch of the Year” for her huge-hit accessories line, SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker. Also in attendance and honored were members of shoe royalty: Giuseppe Zanotti, Stan Smith, and Stuart Weitzman, to name a few. But make no mistake; it was Sarah Jessica who stole the show in her signature nude Carrie heels, paired with a paneled Delphine Manivet dress and Lanvin bag. (I chose to wear Dior with my SJP Daphne pumps
.)
Upon Joe Zee presenting her with the award, SJP said she wanted to design shoes she would authentically wear, and that she has done. Indeed, no gaudy platforms for this lady. Only the chicest pumps will do. And they are also so comfortable, I could dance in them all night or walk a mile in them. The former of which I did last night!
1. SJP Sophia Slingback Sandal: Play contemporary Cinderella with these shimmering evening sandals. Just make sure you don’t kick one off by the time the clock strikes midnight! At Nordstrom for $375.
2. SJP Carrie T-Strap Pump: Take a cue from Sarah Jessica herself, and pair your T-strap Carries with a black-tie-worthy dress for a night on the town. At Nordstrom for $355.
3. SJP Marci Lace-Up Suede Bootie: When a hefty ankle boot feels too cumbersome, opt for this lighter interpretation, with cutouts and soft perforated suede. At Nordstrom for $485.
4. SJP Fawn Specchio Leather Pump: A modernized throwback to the sexy power pumps of decades past, this shimmering color is equal parts girly-sweet and rock ‘n’ roll. At Nordstrom for $350.
