I’m not a bath person… these days mostly because it’s so damn cold outside I’m worried I’ll waste too much time lounging about in the warm water! Baths make me lethargic and I love the heat which, on the flip side, is why I can understand the appeal for many to indulge in a bath before bed (said people must have more self-control than me…). The idea of relaxing in a bath is popular on Instagram. Many influencers in the wellness space like @healthyalibi post images of running baths with “self-care” scrolled across the image on a regular basis, so it seems fitting that more and more products are coming out to support sleep and relaxation whether it be face masks, pillow sprays, bath products (like bombs and oil blends), or supplements. We all want to relax and sleep better and pretty much everyone I know struggles with this on some level.
In fact, Whole Foods recently released their take on the latest beauty trends and sleep supporting beauty products was one of the main ones they called out highlighting things like Pacha Soap’s Sleep Salt Block, which is made with valerian root powder, passion flower powder, lavender, and shea butter, Emerald Health Bioceuticals’ line of supplements which includes Sleep, Calm, and Bliss, and Everyone Sleep Roll-On Aromatherapy. They also make their own in-house products like Whole Foods Market Sleep Support Liquid Capsules (they actually have a whole dedicated section to sleeping).
This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray is another popular option since scent can have a huge impact on how we feel. I love this idea I’m just too worried about breaking out to spray anything on my pillow! (I’m a belly sleeper). Ren makes a similar spray. If you’re fine with spraying something on your pillow these can be a great alternative to oil-infused baths.
Another option? Some sleep powder added to your night-time milk (or tea).
When I consulted with beauty expert Eddie Funkhouser he also singled out Herbivore Botanicals Calm Bath Salts , Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask and Nurse Jamie Beauty Bear Memory Foam Age Defy Pillow.
What do you make of these newfangled sleep supporting beauty products and which are your favorite?
