I love New Year’s Eve. There are fireworks, virtually unlimited champagne, and I can always get away with the wildest of outfits. Here’s the thing, though, it’s still fairly frigid on December 31. When it’s cold outside pretty little party dresses are fun, but sparkling suits are better. I’ll be keeping warm on one of the few occasions when sequin pants fit right in.
I am admittedly not a sequin connoisseur. I swore them off this year for each and every Christmas party I attended. But on New Year’s Eve, all bets are off. As a sequin minimalist, I’ll be pairing glittering slacks with a tailored tuxedo jacket (this means I can buy another tuxedo jacket, right?) and a pop of princess blue to keep the whole look on trend. Maybe I’ll even get a little crazy and go for a blazer with some bling. Either way, I plan to shimmer and shine my way into 2019.
