All hail Parks & Recreation for giving me my favorite excuse to mask any and all shopping spree sins: treat yourself. But it’s the middle of the holiday season and that means my shopping bags rarely include anything for my own closet. So maybe I should hold off on that stunning Alexander Wang rhinestone-encrusted tote, but I do feel alright about treating myself to something a little more practical.
Practicality meets indulgence in runway investment pieces. Sweaters, slacks, and blazers, oh my – a splurge with the added benefit of evergreen style. And it’s nice to get a package or two delivered that I get to open and keep. Sometimes it’s okay to be a little selfish in that regard.
Logic says that I should hold off on picking up anything for myself, but my heart says ‘treat yourself.’ I’ll split the difference and go with the basics.
