New Year, new neutrals! For every fantastic bright bag you collect, you probably want two to three relaxed, natural-looking bags. As fun, and sometimes necessary, as perky, offbeat colors are, it’s the true-to-nature neutrals that will take you through your real life. The new neutrals take a cue from shades reaped from the great outdoors, for ultimate versatility whether your hitting the streets or the great indoors.

1. The Row Textured-Leather Shoulder Bagicon: A dreamy clean body roughed up just a touch, thanks to an element of sandy suede (via the lining) makes for a simplistic bag that somehow oozes sophisticated style. On NET-A-PORTER for $1,090.

2. Khirma Herzog Croc, Snake, & Stingray Clutch: If you have the notion that a truly light and neutral evening bag can’t be edgy, then think again. When multiple elements of exotic skins are effortlessly involved, the edge factor skyrockets. At Bergdorf Goodman for $1,650.

3. Maiyet Sia Bucket Bagicon: Think of this as the ultimate bag for a chic safari. Beige canvas suddenly feels all glammed up, and I have a feeling this base of striped watersnake has something to do with it. At Barneys New York for $1,750.

4. Pierre Hardy Suede and Leather Crossbody Bag: There’s something about a blend of chestnut suede and leather that suggests early ‘70s cool. In a sturdy boxy shape with black piping, Pierre’s tomboyish top handle feels impossibly cool. On MATCHESFASHION.com for $1,533.

5. Elizabeth and James Cynnie Wool, Suede, and Leather Backpackicon: Kelly just fell for the tote version, and now I’m feeling their take on the backpack. Oatmeal wool feels so very soft, while the complimentary brown leather straps and pale suede pocket look perfectly naturalistic. On NET-A-PORTER for $595.

Extremely nice bags. Thanks for taking the efforts to publish them on a restful day. May this new year bring you all great success.

The Row bag is very simple and compact but you can tell it it involves an intensive design plan to make it look so.

Khirma’s bag is excellent, tight, and uniquely designed and patterned. The color match-up must be by professional designer.

Maiyet comes out with a bucket bag identity of its own king. The design speaks for itself.

Elizabeth and James have a backpack which is noble. They chose a universal color that matches with different environments. The bag looks very strong.
