Nail art as we knew it a year ago may have died down, but it is nowhere near dead. It’s just subtler! Gone are the stone embellishments, Rainbow Brite palette, and elaborate designs (that, let’s be honest, you just couldn’t create by yourself at home without looking like you let your little cousin paint your nails for the first time). In its place are minimalist negative space designs and nude polishes. Sure, you still see metallic lacquers, but they’re used on their own, rather than with gems or unusual designs. My personal favorite is the negative space look. It takes “less is more” in a truly literal sense. The only downside is that all it takes is one chip to seriously affect the design! Save this style for a big night out, and the nudes for beach vacations (even if they chip then – and they will – it’s far less noticeable). Which is your favorite nail trend?
1. Negative Space
2. Simple Embellishments
3. Geometric
4. Nude
5. Metallic
6. Marbling
