Trend Alert: Belted Biker Jackets

Lately it seems we have the urge to belt everything, and the inspiration comes from none other than the First Lady herself. While there’s nothing wrong with wanting to cinch your waist in for well-defined curves, I don’t recommend belting your J. Crew cardigans. Now belted biker jackets on the other hand – that I can get behind. This dark blue McQ jacket (on The Corner for $1,755) doubles the flattery with an ever so slight flare. Polish it off with B Brian Atwood’s sophisticated, pointed-toe booties (on Shopbop for $550) and the season’s must-have skirt – an A-line like Warehouse’s textured number (on Warehouse for $45).
