I’m here in New York City for Valentino’s show tonight, and not only am I so excited to see what they have in store, I’m pretty enthused about their just-released Resort ’15 collection. Instead of the delicate lace and distinctly crafted embellishments we’ve come to anticipate, this time they took us on a high-fashion acid trip that embraced color, pattern, and more color and pattern!
For their latest motif (and challenge), they have apparently borrowed a bunch of Fruit Stripe gum wrappers, shaken them up with some late ’70s chevron prints, and somehow made it all look totally chic. Usually when executed in vivid rainbow colors, chevron stripes have a way of looking retro kitsch but not in this case. Combined with Valentino’s subtle hand, masterful execution, and trademark punchy rockstuds, I say bring it all on! Valentino bag at Barneys New York for $2,195.
Pair with: Think this is all the color one outfit can handle? Think again. This Valentino shoulder bag looks even better when worn with even a little more pop. Be bold, and add Acne Studio’s Kensington pleated skirt to the high-impact mix. On My Theresa for $987.
