What to get dad this father’s day (happy tears may be involved!)

I’m going to be traveling on Father’s Day so I gave my Dad his gift before leaving. It was a personalized case from Casetify for his new iPhone X. I thought he was going to cry he was so moved! The case I got him was a collage with pictures from my wedding week in Tel Aviv a few months ago. It just goes to show how you really don’t need to spend much money to get something Dad will truly treasure. What I love about Casetify is that it’s not only easy to design a case, it comes in a ready to gift box and no matter your iPhone model it’s just $39. Plus it’s something Dad will look at countless times throughout the day!

Is your Dad a wine lover? Give him a wine with meaning aka a Pinot. You only need to read this quote from the classic film Sideways to understand why-

“It’s a hard grape to grow, as you know. It’s thin-skinned, temperamental. It’s not a survivor like Cabernet that can grow anywhere and thrive even when neglected. Pinot needs constant care and attention, you know? And in fact it can only grow in these really specific, little, tucked away corners of the world. And, and only the most patient and nurturing of growers can do it, really. Only somebody who really takes the time… to understand Pinot’s potential… can then coax it into its fullest expression.”

Like a Pinot, Dad deserves constant care and attention, especially on this day. Ron Rubin Russian River Valley 2016 Pinot Noir ($22.99) is a great, approachable, affordable pick that was awarded 91 points by Wine Enthusiast. It pairs well with roast chicken if you care to whip up a dinner to go along with it…

I’m obsessed with the Aeroccino 4 ($119)! It’s so easy to use and you can make cold froth, hot froth, or hot milk with it. You can also choose from dense foam or airy foam and like everything Nespresso does it’s really easy to figure out, fast, and easy to clean. This is the perfect gift to help Dad take his morning brew to the next level without taking up much space or spending too much money.

My Dad is a total beauty snob. He has more products in his bathroom – by far – than my Mother and he always loves when I give him something new to try (he’s literally willing to try anything). There’s a line any Dad will be happy to try and it’s a recently launched one called Sanara, which means ‘to heal’ in Spanish. It was started by a woman with Psoriasis who wanted to treat her skin with natural, plant based skincare. All ingredients were specifically chosen to have healing properties great for Dad and in general anyone who is conscious about what is in their skincare (something I’m hyper aware of as I struggle with fertility issues). Let’s not expose our Dad to needless chemicals!

I love these! ISlide has a bunch of Father’s Day-themed designs to choose from or you can personalize your own (both options are $49).

If your Dad loves to golf these King F8 Irons ($799) will be a game changer. They have electronically enabled grips and stats are recorded automatically when you connect to the app so you can track things like distance, accuracy, and improvements round to round – these are the first electronically enabled set of irons.

If Dad is always on-the-go, loves the outdoors or if you’re trying to ease him into a healthy living routine, checkout the relatively new Traveler line from S’well. It works to keep beverages hot or cold for HOURS. I like these over classic bottles because you can throw in ice cubes for an extra quick, cold effect (the classic shape isn’t wide enough for this).
